Supporters are organisations which support the aims of the Blue Light Aware resource. They can be emergency services, local authorities, charities, road safety organisations and private companies. Becoming a supporter costs nothing. If you would like to join the list of supporters, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO)
The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) brings together the expertise and experience of chief police officers from England, Wales and Northern Ireland, providing a professional forum to share ideas and best practice, co-ordinate resources and help deliver effective policing which keeps the public safe.
The Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (ACPOS)
We work in partnership with central and local government to set strategic objectives for policing in Scotland and to deliver better integrated services for Scotland’s communities.
Our membership comprises all chief police officers and some senior police staff of the 8 Scottish police forces, the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, the Scottish Police College and the Assistant Chief Constable of the British Transport Police (Scotland).
The Driving Standards Agency (DSA)
The Driving Standards Agency is one of the executive agencies that forms the Motoring and Freight Services group, part of the Department for Transport.
We are a trading fund with planned turnover of around £200 million in 2010-11, funded almost entirely through fees and revenue from other road safety initiatives.
We are a national organisation delivering tests from over 400 practical driving test centres/multi-purpose test centres and around 150 theory test centres.
We have statutory responsibility for setting standards and conducting theory and practical driving tests. We are also responsible for:
· the statutory regulation of driving instructors and trainers
· the promotion of voluntary registers and non-statutory activities to improve driving standards and contribute to the wider road safety agenda
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents
RoSPA is an independent, registered charity, created in 1917 in response to an ‘alarming increase in traffic accidents’ in London. Today, RoSPA works throughout the UK and globally, to provide information, advice, resources and training to promote safety and accident prevention in all areas of life – on the roads, at work, in the home, in schools, at leisure and on (or near) water. Our aim is to Save Lives and Reduce Injuries.
Road safety remains one of the most important areas of RoSPA’s work. We raise awareness about the causes of road accidents and promote and deliver measures to help prevent them or reduce their severity by:
· Delivering road safety education, training and publicity initiatives and resources
· Delivering a wide range of driver and motorcyclist training schemes
· Delivering road safety engineering training
· Promoting and delivering the Management of Occupational Road Risk
Kent Police protects and serves the people of Kent. Kent Police is divided into six policing areas. In addition, there are specialist units at police headquarters in Maidstone. These units operate across the country and focus on serious and organised crime.
The National Blue Light Users Conference
The Annual National Blue Light Users’ Conference is aimed at all those who manage or train drivers who during the course of their work drive emergency vehicles. It is also relevant to those who manage health and safety and occupational road risk issues for all staff within the emergency services and those who are involved in casualty reduction.
Over the years the Conference has become an important event in the diary for the emergency services and has gained a reputation and credibility with Government and its agencies and other organisations concerned in any way with the emergency services.

Cheshire West and Chester Council

The Motor Schools Association
The Motor Schools Association of Great Britain (MSA) is the senior national association for ADIs. First established in 1935, MSA is a non-profit making association, without shareholders, wholly owned by and run entirely for the benefit of its members. The MSA provides information, representation and services to driving instructors throughout Great Britain.
MSA keeps members informed of any matters of interest, represents the views of members to Government, its departments and agencies, and provides services that will be of benefit to members. The MSA also assists the public in seeking high quality driver training, works with government to seek measures to reduce road accidents and increase road safety, and requires members to abide by the industry code of professional conduct.

TISPOL, The European Traffic Police Network

Ray Driver Training
Freewheelers EVS is a registered charity that provides an out-of-hours motorcycle courier service to hospitals in Bath, Bristol, Somerset and Wiltshire. The charity’s volunteers, who are all advanced motorcyclists, use the same BMW bikes as the police and paramedics, which are fitted with blue lights to aid their progress through traffic in situations where a patients life is at risk. The bikes have panniers and a rack so that urgently need supplies such as blood, pathology samples, x-rays, patient notes, drugs, frozen breast milk or other medical supplies can be carried. The service is completely free to the NHS and operates from 7:00pm to 7:00am in the week, and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays. In the year to April 2011 the charity made 3,000 deliveries covering over 100,000 miles.

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council Road Safety Team are working with our partners in the Welsh Government to make the roads of Wales safer by embracing initiatives for potential young drivers in 6th form who are enrolled in Drive IQ and Drive IQ PRO.
We deliver Pass Plus Cymru, a unique approach to helping new and young drivers improve on how they use the roads and administer the scheme on behalf of four neighbouring Counties. With courses for motorcyclists and drivers high on our list of education tools we engage our own staff across the authority in improving their knowledge and understanding in their roles as Van drivers or Large Goods Vehicle drivers by providing periodic training for driver CPC as an approved centre. Peak 4×4 Reponse
Peak 4×4 Response is a network of volunteers, with well maintained and well equipped 4 Wheel Drive vehicles able to provide a specialist logistics solution to emergency services, local authorities and other organisations in time of emergency or other situations where there is a likelihood of danger or major disruption. We work closley with all of the emergency services especially the EPO (Emergency Planning Office Peak 4×4 Response is able to provide “go anywhere” transport when normal methods are stretched to the limit or ordinary cars and vans are not able to cope with the conditions.
Peak 4×4 Response covers the Derbyshire and Peak District area and is a member of the National 4×4 Response Network which covers most of the UK with simular groups in various areas operating a 24/365 service.
